Barrack Students Explore Tel Aviv and Jerusalem
October 30, 2026

From Sunday through Tuesday, the Barrack students attended their regular classes and had the option to sign out and explore Hod Hasharon. On Tuesday, they enjoyed a hands-on sushi making workshop which was a fun and engaging activity that brought everyone together.
Wednesday brought a day of exploration in Tel Aviv. The day began with a guided tour of Neve Tzedek, followed by time to wander through the bustling Carmel Market and experience the vibrant atmosphere. The afternoon continued with free time at the Tel Aviv Port, where Barrack students enjoyed the beautiful waterfront overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. That evening, some students took part in the Tel Aviv Night Run, in partnership with an organization that supports individuals with special needs. Running alongside hundreds of participants, they completed a 5 kilometer course while contributing to a meaningful community event.
Thursday was spent in Jerusalem, where students went on educational tours of the area. A highlight was the visit to Latrun, where they toured Yad La-Shiryon, Israel's Armored Corps Memorial Site and Museum, and got to see tanks from different periods throughout history, gaining a deeper understanding of Israel's military heritage. They also had the unique opportunity to witness a military course graduation ceremony held at the site.
Back on campus that evening, the students celebrated Halloween with a movie night and enjoyed a delicious dinner of schnitzel and challah, along with a Belgian waffle station and cotton candy. It was a great way to unwind after a busy and jam-packed week.
The week concluded with an open Shabbat weekend. Most students spent the weekend with their host families, while those who stayed on campus had the opportunity to rest, recharge, and study for their upcoming exams. It was a wonderful chance to reflect on the week's experiences before another exciting week ahead.
