Eilat of Fun for Barrack Students

The Barrack students had a great week at Muss! Early in the week, students had class as usual and attended an engaging journalism lecture that offered a fascinating introduction to the world of investigative writing.

On Wednesday, Barrack students stepped beyond the classroom to experience the richness of Israeli society and history. They traveled to an Ethiopian community center, where they were taught about Ethiopian culture and traditions, learning traditional dances and discovering the community’s vibrant heritage. From there, the group adventure continued with camel riding in the south of Israel, followed by a meaningful and educational visit to Ben-Gurion’s grave. Here, students deepened their understanding of one of Israel’s most influential leaders.

The adventure in southern Israel continued. Thursday began in the Negev desert where students explored sweeping sand dunes. Later in the day, everyone participated in a short hike along a stunning trail that gave everyone a chance to see the region’s dramatic landscape before heading to Eilat!

On Friday, the students started the day with a beautiful sunrise hike together. After some additional time exploring Eilat, the group traveled to Kibbutz Ketura near the city. There, they'll spend Shabbat together with the entire community and learn about what it's like to live on a kibbutz and participate in community life—closing the week with learning, exploration, and connection.
