Celebrating Sukkot and Simchat Torah in Israel

Sunday was the first day of Chol HaMoed Sukkot, and our fall students traveled to Tel Aviv to visit the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation. They learned a lot about Israeli innovation and technology through interactive exhibits and experiences, including VR activities. It was a fun and educational way to start the week!

Later in the week, Muss educators hosted students in the Sukkah, where the whole group ate and celebrated the holiday together. After a relaxing start to Sukkot, Muss hosted Color War on campus! The students were incredibly excited and went all out with team spirit – painting their faces with team colors, dressing up, and bringing lots of energy. The teams competed in different activities and challenges prepared by the staff, but in the end Blue Team won the Color War trophy! The group celebrated with a boat trip that traveled along the coast of Herzliya.

On Thursday, Fall Semester students traveled to Beit Guvrin, where they crawled through caves, learned about Bar Kokhba and the history of the area, and visited an ancient Roman amphitheater. It was a day full of adventure and exploration.

To finish the week, the group set off for Jerusalem to celebrate Simchat Torah. Students will visit synagogues and the Kotel (Western Wall), and everyone will dance with Torah scrolls and celebrate the holiday together.
